We trialed a new way of spelling at Cardiff North Public School. We looked at the new syllabus, Literacy continuum and Teaching Spelling to formulate these lists of words. You can find year K to Year 6 spelling here for the year.

After using these lists to assess where students in my class are, I have formulated 6 groups for spelling based on the students needs. I assessed my students on the first weeks of their grade level. If they were more than 50% incorrect then I went to the grade that was below and retested from there.
